You know what the old saying: Don't judge a book by it's cover.
Guess I was wrong about the Evil Dead remake, it wasn't bad... It was really good. I have to be more honest though, it could've been better, especially on the scary atmosphere. Sure, there was some good little jump scares, but not enough to match the scared-the-shit-out-of-me level like the original.
I'm not gonna go into the details, because I don't wanna spoil for those who haven't seen it yet :3
One thing I can tell, is how much the amount of blood is superior compared to the original. Geesh, good thing I didn't eat anything during the movie.
Another aspect of the movie that I like is the reason why they all go to the cabin. In the original, the 5 friends want to spend some crazy holidays, getting drunk, etc; like in every cliched horror movies. In the remake, the characters are trying to help the main character (Mia) to overcome her problems. Personally, I like the remake's version, it's not cliche, and there's a story going on with the brother and sister, even after all hell breaks loose, unlike the original which is simply about our beloved Ash trying to survive, and that's it.
According to Wikipedia, there's a sequel coming (meh, why not? I'm sure it will be good) and at the same time, Sam Raimi is working on Army of Darkness 2. I'm not joking, he's going to make an Evil Dead 4 with Bruce Campbell. And on top of that, one of the future movies will be a crossover of Ash and Mia. That might be interesting...
